Registries

Lucy and Mick are registered at a few different places, for geographic and internettic convenience:
  • One place that we think is mighty neat what with their online registry and all, is Crate & Barrel.
  • And there's the vast and wide department store giant, Target, the place with everything under the sun.
  • Another place in Lexington is Mulberry & Lime, a wonderful little home and gift store in the heart of historic downtown. Ask for Mary, the proprietress.
  • In Owensboro, Mick's birthtown, a couple of options are the legendary Baker's Rack and the new kid on the block, Trison's.
Another option:

The Honorable Lucy and Mick Honeymoon Fund!

We want to go somewhere really great for our honeymoon, and with your help, we can do it! In addition, any kindness that you send our way will be rewarded with a nearly-famous nearly-hilarious realtime commentary by Lucy and Mick, as offered up on a honeymoon blog and emailed straight to you as the adventure unfolds! If this option holds any appeal to you, we would delight in your contribution, by credit card or paypal, simply by clicking the "donate" link and entering any amount that you wish!

Super Aunt Edie hosted a bonanza for us at her place and I again set up the "remote studio" to capture some hometown characters! Extra credit to Caroline who was my rockin' assistant and oftentimes, principal photog!

Also, Loris and Phil got treated to some prime farm time out in good ole Curdsville, Kay-Why. There's cows, cocktails, and carousing. Here are some pictures!

Mary and Jill hooked me and Lucy up with a swell Keeneland Chicken Festival, replete with bourbon, beer, assorted laffs and plenty of food, even for drunk party-crashers. Check out the pictures!

Also, at the risk of overcomplicating things, I figured out how multiple peeps can share pictures on Flickr and if you have any pix from Keeneland that you want to share, you can do it here!

Invite assembly!

Lucy and I have been hard at work crankin' out the invites. Here we see Lucy at "Invitation Central," a.k.a., our dining room table. I designed them and semi-produced them (foolishly—I should have stuck to my original plan to let Jim do them or Cricket Press, but nooooooo!), and Lucy and an assorted cast of guest helpers totally made the rest happen. We're pretty glad that's basically over. Now back to the actual wedding planning!

the wedding dress

A months-ago wedding prep story:

So, there we were, in NYC, right? Lucy was there on business, I was there on the business of walking around…

We had some wedding walking around midtown in the swanky district, and that was when we decided to register at Crate & Barrel. It was so easy — they give you a blinker and you walk around blinking things. That was plenty much fun, I tellya!

Since we were up there, we went to Barney's to see what was what, mostly wedding-dress wise... I probably don't have to tell you, but Barney's is so very very, dahling… And that ain't necessarily a compliment, you know?

BUT it's hard to resist the opportunity —so in we go, up the escalator to the second floor, where Lucy approaches this slim, gorgous and aloof black-turtleneck-clad black man and asks in a very genteel fashion: "I was wondering if and where you might have any sale racks?" and his cool, completely expressionless response: "We don't have any sale racks … anywhere … in the entire store."

Hoooo-kay, then…

Well, even though I haven't seen it, word on the street is that Lucy got a spectacular dress, ah, elsewhere.
